I’ve noticed an issue with the movies regarding their playback speed. It should be noted that I’m using the high quality mp4 movies.
The audio of the movies plays back fine, but the video itself plays slower as the resolution increases. Using 320×240 they play back fine, but anything larger and the video is slower, so is not in sync with the audio. As I up the screen resolution further the video playback slows more. I’ve no idea what is causing this.
Movie playback speed tied to resolution

Tried Resident Evil 2 Classic REbirth yesterday and that has the same issue. I’ve also tried both games using the original movies and it made no difference. The mp4 files for RE1 play fine within the VLC video player, though.
All video playback is managed in software, so the higher you go the longer it takes to upscale decompressed frames to the intended resolution. This will change with the DirectX9 rewrites.
I see. I just tried Dino Crisis Classic REbirth and the videos are fine. Is it because this already uses DirectX9?
Exactly. In Dino Crisis I have all scaling moved from software to hardware.
